FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Water Quality Association?

The Water Quality Association (WQA) is committed to the highest standards in the water treatment industry. Honesty, integrity, fair trade and professionalism in the water treatment industry are guiding principles of the WQA. Stringent testing for products in drinking water are also included in your query. The WQA represents more than 2,400 member companies in over 70 countries. The company waterhole GmbH is a member of WQA.

What NSF is certified?

What is the best filter method?

What is the best car, house or vacation area. You must decide what you want to filter. Most of the materials are taken from the water by steam distillation and reverse osmosis. If you want to get the minerals dissolved in the water, a Carbonitfilter is the right choice. Taste there are big differences. Visit us again in our store in Berlin. Find your favorite water at a free tasting water!

Minerals in water are important or harmful to our body?

At this point there are two opinions. One side believes that minerals are in the water for our bodies good and important. The other side argues that minerals in water are inorganic, and anyway can not be recycled, or even harmful and accumulate in the body. To anticipate the same promise: all inorganic minerals, even if they are of plant origin. Is meant here is well aware that minerals are bound to organic foods to chelates. These chelates allow three to ten times higher absorption of minerals in the body, since amino acids serve as a vehicle and as the trace elements in the small intestine for absorption immediately available. The ("inorganic") minerals which are not bound to chelates are, for the most part "resolved" in the stomach and thus have a lower bioavailability. Our body receives its supplies of minerals from the diet, however, you'd have to drink gallons of water masses to the daily requirement of minerals from water to cover. The role of water is not a mineral supply, water is mainly used as a transport and solvent. To fulfill this task well, water should be as free of contaminants and residues. This is achieved most effectively through the reverse osmosis or steam distillation. But since certain minerals as a flavor carrier in coffee or tea are necessary, you can safely use a mineral cartridge to your previously demineralized and purified water back to mineralize easily. If you also tastes without minerals, enjoy it. The old tale that the permanent drinking demineralized (distilled) water flow to death has long been disproved This is the ("inorganic") minerals throughout your body settle (as in the washing machine), probably belongs in the realm of fable (us anyway no relevant study is known, which would show that.) Conclusion: Your water should be pure and vital, whether you want it again afterwards is slightly mineralized, in literally a matter of taste.

Why is there such a large price differences for reverse osmosis systems?

At very affordable reverse osmosis systems (around 100 EUR) often the cheapest components are chosen, which are manufactured from highly questionable materials. These components are usually manufactured in Asia and sometimes do not meet the strict European or American standards for materials that come in contact with water. On the other hand let the most recognized reverse osmosis system manufacturers often produce your parts in Asia or Eastern Europe. The difference here, however, which is produced under license or contract, with strict adherence to quality standards that apply in the U.S. or Europe. Such quality standards cost money and are not to have "super cheap". On the other side of the price scale, you often find multi-level marketing (network marketing), which offer their (sometimes very high) equipment is very expensive. Ask your provider but just how much you would earn on the sale of these assets as a partner. If he will then explain the distribution system, how many people earn on sale of an investment, you will quickly realize why these plants are so expensive -. The golden road is, as often happens in the middle.

How can I recognize quality reverse osmosis systems?

Quality systems to recognize e.g. because these have quick connectors as John Guest, or other quick-connectors, and not only so-called simple Jaco fittings. These are inexpensive, but also cumbersome screw that can easily tilt depending on the material to break and where you as a customer can possibly injure your fingers.

Quality systems often have a faucet with ceramic valve (secure closure, bacteria find it difficult to penetrate from the side valve in the system). Many systems have mostly just a simple toggle lever faucet without safe ceramic valve.

On the tube material, the manufacturer, the max. Resilience and the approval for drinking water to be seen in low-cost systems, the tubing is often only loads up to 7 bar.

Pay attention to the installation of high-quality membranes (Made in USA) as DOW Filmtec membranes, Applied or GE, sometimes cheap membranes dubious origin are installed.

In high-end systems, you often get much more than the statutory period of two years.

Comparable labor costs are much lower in the U.S. than in Germany, built in Germany can still be cheaper systems, without which was saved elsewhere?

Can I then be sure to purchase from you a really good system?

Yes, not for nothing that we can have a 5-year warranty for all our reverse osmosis systems provide. We buy directly from the manufacturer or major importer, without expensive middlemen. Let us know if you find an equivalent system which is to be had cheaper.

Which filter intrinsically best in a crisis or emergency situations?

In a crisis situation, you should use a small digital filter, which works without electricity and tap water pressure. Here are the Swiss company Katadyn water filter. We recommend the Katadyn Pocket Filter (20-year warranty, very robust protection against bacteria). Or by Katadyn Combi The combined filter not only protects against bacteria, but reduced by its upstream activated carbon filters and chemicals. For extremely polluted (contaminated) water, we recommend the Katadyn Survivos 06th This is the only known reverse osmosis filter for manual operation which requires no mains water pressure. New to the range is the "miracle water" with which you can without line pressure and flow of water cleanse your Bakteien, heavy metals, pesticides and
drugresidues.
